About

This villa is nestled along the coastline of Saint-Tropez, set in a secluded enclave far removed from the rhythm of glamorous parties and the constant movement of the season. Here, the atmosphere is softer, more intimate — defined by the sound of cicadas, the shimmer of the Mediterranean, and the warm Provençal light that washes over textured facades. Conceived as a summer residence for a family with children, the home was designed as a place of togetherness, ease, and joyful escape. From the very beginning, the creative direction was guided by the clients’ personal vision: a love for vibrant color, an appreciation for vintage character, and a deep respect for the authentic rural architecture that surrounds the property. The colorful shutters, sun-faded walls, and rustic charm of the neighboring houses became an integral source of inspiration, allowing the villa to feel not imposed upon the landscape, but organically rooted within it — as though it had always belonged to this radiant corner of the coast.

While the setting provided the emotional foundation, the architectural narrative evolved through a delicate balance of preservation and reinterpretation. We approached the villa not as a blank canvas, but as a dialogue between past and present — honoring the regional vernacular while subtly refining it through thoughtful design gestures. Natural materials were chosen for their honesty and tactile beauty: lime-washed walls that capture the changing light, aged wood that carries warmth and memory, stone surfaces that feel cool beneath bare feet during the height of summer. Every detail was considered in relation to its surroundings, ensuring that the home feels effortless rather than orchestrated. Large openings frame fragments of sea and sky, inviting the landscape indoors and allowing sunlight to animate the interiors throughout the day. The result is a residence that breathes with its environment — serene yet expressive, timeless yet deeply personal — embodying a quiet sophistication that reflects both the spirit of Saint-Tropez and the individuality of its owners.

The project is defined by its confident embrace of color — expressive yet harmonious, playful yet refined. Rather than using color as an accent alone, we allowed it to become the language of the interior, shaping mood and movement throughout the home. At the heart of this narrative stands the staircase, conceived as the central artistic gesture of the project. More than a functional element, it is a sculptural statement — an architectural artwork that anchors the entire composition. Each step is crafted from individually selected stone, chosen for its unique shade, veining, and tactile presence. Together, these stones create a vertical tapestry of hues, subtly gathering every color used throughout the villa into one cohesive, unifying form. The staircase becomes the emotional and visual axis of the house — a dynamic centerpiece that connects floors, spaces, and atmospheres while embodying the spirit of the design itself.

The bedrooms are intentionally modest in scale, yet this intimacy only enhances their charm. Rather than pursuing grand proportions, we embraced a more personal dimension, allowing each space to feel enveloping and serene. Their smaller size transforms them into tranquil retreats — places of rest where texture, light, and color create a sense of gentle comfort. The rural Mediterranean aesthetic remains present in every detail, from natural materials to softly layered finishes. Warm, sun-kissed tones form the foundation of the palette, while carefully placed vibrant accents introduce energy and individuality. The result is an atmosphere that feels authentic and lived-in, where simplicity becomes sophistication and coziness becomes a quiet form of luxury.

In the children’s bedrooms, imagination and warmth guide the design approach. We introduced textile wall coverings in vivid, joyful tones, bringing softness, depth, and a sense of handcrafted authenticity to the rooms. These fabric walls not only enrich the visual experience but also create a tactile environment that feels comforting and protective. Each bedroom was designed as a distinct world of its own, reflecting a unique personality through color, pattern, and subtle vintage details. No two rooms are alike; each tells its own story while remaining connected to the overall spirit of the villa. The result is a series of intimate, character-filled spaces that celebrate childhood, creativity, and the enduring magic of Mediterranean summers.
